Many grant recipients struggle with how to intake and manage their awards once received. At Wake Tech, we have developed tools to manage 60-80 grants. This session provides an overview of these tools used to intake federal, state, local grants, train grant personnel in administration and compliance, and monitoring. Our understanding documents provide written processes for auditors while providing grant leads instructions, setting expectations, and building buy in and knowledge. We will share sample documents. This presentation shares best practices from a higher education grant management system and process that apply to all grant recipient organizations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will increase their knowledge in meeting audit requirements for written procedures for grant-related activities.

  • Attendees will navigate a sample monitoring tool to gain knowledge of best practices related to documenting grant activities that preserve historical implementation of projects.

  • Attendees will gain a better understanding of how to develop project director's trainings that prepare grant leads in compliance and audits.
