Welcome to Intro to Grants Management

Purpose

A comprehensive eLearning course tailored for beginners (0-3 years of experience) in grant management, designed to equip them with essential foundational skills and knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of grant administration. Spanning ten modules, this course covers a wide array of topics including grant management principles, compliance, budgeting, project management, risk management, communication, ethics and problem-solving.


Key Learning Objectives

  • Define the Role of a Grants Manager - By the end of this course, learners will be able to define the responsibilities of a grants manager and distinguish between their roles in compliance, financial oversight, and project success.
  • Identify and Recognize the Grant Life Cycle - By the end of this course, learners will be able to identify and recognize the key stages of the grant lifecycle (including pre-award, award, post-award, monitoring, internal controls, closeout, and audits) and differentiate the responsibilities at each stage.
  • Evaluate and Apply Compliance and Ethical Standards - By the end of this course, learners will be able to evaluate compliance rules, regulations, and reporting requirements and distinguish between ethical and unethical grant management practices.
  • Recognize and Apply Monitoring and Documentation Strategies - By the end of this course, learners will be able to recognize best practices for monitoring and documentation and differentiate between effective and ineffective strategies for recording, maintaining, and reporting financial and programmatic information.\
  • Assess and Evaluate Risks in Grant Management - By the end of this course, learners will be able to assess potential risks in grants management, evaluate their impact, and differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate risk mitigation strategies.

Participants have the opportunity to earn 10 CPE credit | Field of Study: Specialized Knowledge

To be awarded the CPE credit, participants must complete all 10 levels and pass alll post-exams with 80% accuracy.
